Class 4 English — CBSE / NCERT

Follows Santoor — Textbook of English for Class 4 (NCERT, First Edition April 2024, Reprint 2026-27)

A full year of English for Class 4 on the CBSE syllabus, following Santoor — the NCERT reader — lesson by lesson. Each one is taught over three short days of about ten minutes: what the lesson is about, the grammar or writing it carries, worked examples, reading aloud, and a sheet marked the moment it is submitted. Every third day looks back at lessons from weeks ago, which is what makes them stay. 39 daily sessions of 10–15 minutes.

Start Day 1

39 days, in the book’s own order

Every lesson in the textbook is taught over three short days rather than one long sitting — because ten minutes is a thing a child does on a bus, and forty is a thing somebody has to make them do.

Learn

What the lesson is about and the grammar it carries. About 15 minutes.

Practise

Worked examples, then a sheet marked the moment you submit it. About 15 minutes.

Recall

Read aloud, three things to remember, and questions from earlier units. About 10 minutes.

Every third day is a recall day, and it deliberately asks about lessons from one, three and seven units ago rather than the one just finished. Getting those wrong is the point — a thing you have to reach for is a thing you still have in March.
