Is this really free?

A complete IELTS Academic mock test — all four modules under exam timing — is free, along with practice sets in every module and General Training reading and letter practice. There is no trial, no card and no account needed to browse. The paid part is the second full mock test, the advanced question-type sets, and the band 9 model answers: ₹99 unlocks one module, ₹999 unlocks everything, and both are one-time payments with no expiry.

Question 2

I am enrolled on a LangVR IELTS course. Do I pay anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Everything in the practice section is included in your course. Sign in with the email or phone number your counsellor holds and it unlocks itself — the system checks your enrolment and your CRM record on every visit. If it still asks you to pay, your CRM record most likely has a different email; ask your counsellor to correct it, or contact support and they can grant access directly.

Question 3

How is my band score calculated?

Listening and Reading are marked against the answer key and converted using the published indicative raw-to-band tables — with the General Training table applied to GT reading, because the same raw mark earns a lower band there. Writing and Speaking are not machine-marked: you get word counts, structural checks, a band 9 model answer and the four official criteria to score yourself against. Your overall band is the mean of the modules that have a band, rounded the way IELTS rounds, so an average of 6.25 is reported as 6.5.

Why is Writing not scored automatically?

Because no automatic score would be honest. A machine can tell you an essay is 260 words in four paragraphs with a 48% vocabulary variety; it cannot tell you whether your position is consistent or your examples support your argument, and two essays with identical statistics can be band 5 and band 8. So the measurable things are measured, the model answer is shown, and the band is yours to award against the descriptors — which is also the exercise that teaches you what you are being marked on.

Question 5

Is the Listening audio real?

Accepted Answer

The scripts are read aloud by your browser's own speech synthesis, with a different voice for each speaker, and each recording plays once exactly as in the exam. That is stated on the player rather than hidden. Where a studio recording has been produced for a section, the same section plays that file instead. Full transcripts are released with your results, which is the fastest way to find where an answer was said.

Question 6

Do you cover General Training as well as Academic?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Listening and Speaking are identical in both versions of the exam, so those sets serve everyone. Reading and Writing differ, and there is dedicated General Training reading practice — notices and workplace documents — plus formal, semi-formal and informal letter tasks for GT Writing Task 1, graded against the General Training band table.
